The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate of Advanced Studies in Accounting is a post-baccalaureate certificate designed to allow any student with a completed Bachelor’s degree (in any field) from any accredited higher education institution to earn the necessary credit hours and satisfy the educational requirements to sit for the CPA examination in the State of Louisiana. Upon completion of the certificate, a student will be prepared and qualified to begin the process of completing the CPA examinations which license them to practice accounting professionally in the State of Louisiana.
The certificate consists of up to 48 credit hours in general business and specific accounting coursework. Students may transfer into the certificate program up to 24 credit hours of previously completed business or accounting coursework, and will typically complete 24-30 credit hours at Loyola to meet the credit hour and educational requirements to sit for the CPA.
Post-baccalaureate students pursuing the certificate enroll in the same undergraduate-level accounting courses taken by students pursuing the Bachelor of Accountancy degree. Required courses are typically offered in the day time hours before noon to allow students to continue to work in the afternoon or evening while pursuing the certificate. Students benefit from a very competitive tuition rate charged on a credit-hour basis to allow flexibility of course loads.
